Hear from our very own…..
Dr Hoofd, Ingrid Maria
Assistant Professor, Communications and New Media
During my graduate studies in NUS, the rich diversity of perspectives in the modules on offer, as well as the intellectual knowledge and engagement of the professors in FASS, prepared me well for my current job as assistant professor in a highly interdisciplinary academic programme. This stimulating graduate experience, in which respect for diversity and productive academic engagement were main ingredients, I now in turn try to recreate for my own students in FASS.

USP Career Services
Dear Student,
As part of the USP Career Services offerings, we have lined up a series of talk and sharing in late February and early March that are intended for students keen to pursue or considering postgraduate studies. Spread over 3 different sessions, it will cover UK (London) and US postgraduate opportunities, as well as a sharing by USP faculty staff and alumni on postgraduate studies.
Registration for the sessions is now open.
Please register responsibly, as we will be making logistical arrangements based on the registration.
The sessions are also open to students in USP partner faculties, so feel free to share this with your faculty friends.
1) UK (London) Universities Talk
We are pleased to invite the representatives from four top UK universities, University College London, Imperial College, King’s College and London School of Economics, to share with you the various graduate opportunities in their esteemed institutions.
The talk is scheduled on:
Date: Monday, 28 Feb 2011
Time: 5.00pm to 6.30pm
Venue: USP Conference Room, Level 7, Blk ADM
In addition to sharing about postgraduate opportunities, there will also be an overview of graduate studies in the UK.
If you are keen to pursue postgraduate studies, or just want to know more so that you can plan more informally, this will be the talk you would not want to miss. It is also a chance for you to interact with the career advisors and faculty staff from these universities. They will be presenting to students the benefits and advantages of graduate studies at these institutions which are based in the heart of London. The presentation shall give an overview of graduate studies in the UK and then focus on the advantages of graduate studies in London. The presentation will also give an overview of the application process and what universities are looking for in students. Students will then have an opportunity to personally speak to representatives from each of the universities in more detail if they wish.
