This was an interview with Singapore’s outgoing Ambassador to the United States Professor Chan Heng Chee, who recounted her 16 years of diplomatic office in Washington and her role in strengthening Singapore-US relations. Prof Chan, an alumni and a faculty member of FASS and also a NUS Board of Trustees member, was frequently sought for her views on Asian affairs, known for her rapport with high-level US officials and diplomats and her support of charitable and cultural causes. Upon her return to Singapore, Prof Chan will be Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She will also be the Executive Chairman of the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities at SUTD.
