This was a report on the buzz over old playgrounds in Housing Board estates built from the 1970s to 1990s. Professor Lily Kong from the Department of Geography at the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, who is also NUS Vice President (University and Global Relations) and Vice Provost (Academic Personnel), noted that the interest in playgrounds could be tied to the growing interest in heritage over the last three to five years, especially among those in their 30s to 50s. Prof Kong added that this group look back to the 1970s and 1980s with nostalgia about what characterised their experiences and the landscape of that particular period.
