The New Paper
Associate Professor Tan Ern Ser, Department of Sociology, discussed that the Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council saga might not affect the voters’ confidence in the Workers’ Party’s (WP) abilities during the election season.
He added that voters may attribute WP’s mistake to its lack of experience or the uneven playing field that the opposition town councils have to face.
In comparison, the PAP are held to a higher standard and as such, would require more effort to regain the voters’ confidence.
