Dear Students (ARS1, ARS2, ARS3)
On behalf of ECO Singapore and the Singapore Delegates for the World Leadership Conference 2011, I would like to invite you to participate in the World Leadership Conference Competition 2011.
What is WLC?
The World Leadership Conference 2011 is a unique 5-day conference which aims to equip youths with relevant skills and knowledge on the issues of sustainable development and climate change. Youths from the Asia-Pacific are encouraged to engage in lively debate and think critically about the issues that are facing the region today. It is also a great opportunity to meet like-minded peers from around Asia-Pacific and to establish lasting friendships and partnerships with students and volunteers from environmental organizations in the region. It is set to be held in Singapore from the 11th to the 15th of July 2011.
Overview of Competition
Building towards WLC 2011 in July 2011, we would like to invite students from all tertiary institutions in Singapore to submit a paper on their views on any of the three proposed themes under the WLC 2011. Each group can be comprised of 1 to 3 students (maximum 3). The paper should be based on the context of Singapore, with reference to external case studies to substantiate your views.
The three proposed themes are:
1. Energy for a Low Carbon Future
2. Environmental Law and Governance
3. Green Economy to Eradicate Poverty

The winning group of each theme will also get an opportunity to present their paper during WLC 2011, as well as an exclusive chance to network with the top industry leaders of the environmental sector.
