At Audible Hearts, we read the unspoken tales of young people caught in entangled webs spun around the heart; the sobbing girl in her bedroom with echoes of words hurting still; the guy alone amidst mounting expectations that threaten to swallow him; the unnamed who has lost motivation for life. Often, we do not recognize these people in our every day settings: in school or on the MRT. The girl could be your best friend. The guy your course mate; and the unnamed, you.
Peers are overwhelmingly the first stop for youths when seeking support; sharing similar life experiences, peers are more likely to commiserate and empathise with fellow beings. This is why peer support is important – learn to hear and be heard – can often make the world of a difference. And if you’re a youth aged between 16-25 years old, join us to find out more about peer support!
<Hello! How Are You?> is a unique one-day event that will bring together youths interested in learning about peer support. It will be a day of frank discussion and mutual learning, complemented by our commitment to ensure that you will never get bored. We mean it – no sitting around waiting for guests of honour or snooze-friendly lectures. And it’s Free!
Whether you are an experienced peer support leader or just another youth, opportunities to support someone can pop up anytime, maybe even tomorrow?
