Research: Babies in bilingual environment can differentiate between languages and tones below the age of one

It was reported that a study conducted by NUS researchers, led by Associate Professor Leher Singh from the Department of Psychology at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, found that infants under a year old are able to absorb information in Mandarin and even tell the four main tones apart. The researchers recommended that parents could expose their children to two languages as early as possible.
