(2) God is wholly good.

(3) Evil exists.

(4) Good is opposed to evil, in such a way that a good thing always eliminates evil as far as it can.

(5) There are no limits to what an omnipotent thing can do.

(6) There are no limits to what God can do (from (1) and (5)).

(7) God can eliminate evil completely (from (6)).

(8) God does not eliminate evil as far as He can (from (3), (7)).

(9) A thing that does not eliminates evil as far as it can is not wholly good (from (4)).

(10) God is not wholly good (from (8), (9))—contradicts (2).

(7) There is some evil that God cannot eliminate (from (3), (6)).

(8) There are limits to what God can do (from (7)).

(9) God is not omnipotent (from (5), (8))—contradicts (1).
