Data and/or biological samples from the SPHS may be requested for research or operational purposes. Use of data and/or samples for research may require an IRB approval for use. All requests are subjected to review by the SPHS Scientific Committee (SC) and the use of data and/or samples must be in accordance with the terms and conditions stated in the Data Request form.
The use of SPHS resources is subjected to an access fee. This access fee seeks to recover the costs of servicing an access application, including data concierge, and data preparation. We do not seek to recover the cost of development and management of the SPHS resource.

An overview of the data and samples request process is provided below. For all pre-submission queries, please email us at SSHSPHDataRequest@nus.edu.sg. If your request has been assigned a request number (YYYY-XXX), please quote the request number in your email to facilitate communications.
Checklist for submission of data request
- Completed Data Request Form.
- For research requests, please ensure that the study aims and analysis plan are clearly defined. If insufficient details are provided, the SPHS SC may not be able to assess the project adequately and may cause a delay or rejection of the proposal.
- Selection of sections or sub-sections from our Data Dictionaries.
- Ethical approval and approved protocol (for all research requests).
- Research agreement (for all requests involving data and/or biospecimens sharing with non-NUS institutions)
