A/P Loy Hui Chieh’s primary interest centers around Early Chinese Philosophy, and most of his previous and current research are done in this field, and in related researches on East Asia (e.g., history of science and technology and contemporary political ideas). Other interests include Ancient Greek Philosophy, Early Modern and Contemporary Ethics and Political Philosophy. I am currently on the editorial board for Chinese Comparative Philosophy for the journal Philosophy Compass. Prior to AY2016-17, Semester 1, A/P Loy was not the instructor for GET1029/GEK1067 (previously also known as PH1102E). He was tapped to take charge of the module when the previous instructor (A/P Michael Pelczar) went on sabbatical. Nonetheless, he expects to have fun teaching the course and hopes that you (students in the class) will also enjoy taking it.
