The Hon Sui Sen Memorial Library will be undergoing a much-awaited renovation later this year. Look forward to more discussion rooms, a Loans Desk that is better equipped to handle your needs, and a larger variety of facilities, while retaining many of the assets that has made the library a favourite for students to study and collaborate in.
The floor to ceiling windows that give the library a bright and cheerful atmosphere will still remain, and students can look forward to more space in which to conduct research, study, discuss projects or exercise their creativity. A training room fully equipped with computers and presentation equipment will allow librarians to give classes on important Business-related databases, allowing participants to try out the resources in hands-on sessions. Once the training room is ready, the librarians will be moving forward with classes targeted at all levels of students across many Business departments, so keep an eye out for announcements next semester!
Naturally, change involves, well, a great deal of disruption. During our metamorphosis, there will be periods of time where certain areas will be closed off for upgrades and improvements, and some services may be disrupted. However, the day-to-day operations of the library will carry on, and the library staff will continue to give our best efforts to serve our members. We hope for your kind understanding and cooperation during this period of upheaval. If the various sights, sounds and smells of the renovation process should overwhelm you, do approach our library staff, who will assist you in locating nearby alternatives for studying, printing or conducting online research.
This is the beginning of a wonderful experience for all of us, once we have endured the necessary shifts and changes. We hope that once the dust (and noise and smells) has settled, students will enjoy the spanking new look of the library, the new equipment and facilities, and be able to study comfortably in the added floorspace.
