Mary Chong is Assistant Professor at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, the National University of Singapore. She is also Principal Investigator at the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences and Clinical Nutrition Research Centre at A*STAR.
She is a clinical dietitian by training and pursued her PhD studies at the University of Oxford, U.K and her post-doctoral training at the University of Reading, UK before returning to Singapore about 7 years ago to help build up the nutrition research capabilities locally.
Mary leads the Nutrition domain for the mother-offspring cohort in Singapore, known as GUSTO, as well as two upcoming cohort studies in pre-conception women. She is also co-investigator and collaborator on three adult weight loss dietary intervention studies. Her research interests are in maternal and infant nutrition, nutrition in obesity and metabolic diseases, weight loss diet interventions and eating behaviour in adults and infants.
