In search for beauty in NUS

Life may sometimes seem dreary and mundane, but if you keep a look-out, beauty is all around. This week, the NUS Res Life team scouted around for these beautiful places in NUS, so you’d never have to leave campus to find it. Be it for Instagram, for reflection or simply for a nice place to catch up with friends – you name it, we have (found) it. We hope this blog post will inspire you to seek more beauty in our surroundings!

We have such a wide array of flora and fauna in Singapore, but many of us don’t take the time to stop and smell the flowers… Literally. Even in NUS, we have this spectacular tree with bright red flowers. It is such an amazing sight!

If you are ever in the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and are dressed to the nines, you can always head to AS3 for an outfit-of-the-day (OOTD) photoshoot. This particular wall features Singapore’s iconic shophouses and makes for the perfect background to complement your #OOTD.

It’s never too early to start planning next semester’s study spots. Allow us to point out now that AS3 offers some pretty Instagram-worthy study spots. Studying in pretty places also make studying more conducive… As long as they don’t distract you from studying.

Sunsets are always glorious – especially in recent times where Singapore has been experiencing an abundance of dramatic sunsets. Try to catch them whenever you are in UTown – be it on Town Green or from a good vantage point high up!

If you are ever early enough to catch the sunrise, we guarantee that it will not disappoint. Plus, there really is no feeling greater than that of having the luxury of a whole day still ahead of you.

Apart from being a pretty Instagram-worthy location, this garden at Prince George’s Park Residences is a nice little place to hang out with your friends. Many stone slabs are all the better for more friends to gather round.

The urban landscape makes the sunset here at Prince George’s Park a little more cluttered, but also a little more beautiful in its own special way.
