You might have heard, International Exchange Day is happening on the 3rd of September (Wednesday) at UTown from 9am – 6pm.

Pre-Departure Briefing for Students Heading to Exchange in Semester 1 AY2014/15

Dear students

There will be a pre-departure briefing for students who are leaving for their exchange in the coming semester.

The date is 21 July 2014, Monday; time is 10 to 12 noon and the venue is LT13 @ FASS.

For those of you who cannot make the briefing, the material will be uploaded on our FASS website after the briefing. Hope to see you there.

Reboot: SEP/Summer School Consultation Hours

Dear students

As a way to make it easier for students to follow up with their queries for SEP as well as summer school, we have restarted the consultation hours; typically on Tuesday and Thursday; barring public holidays. Please note that the venue is AS7 5th floor at the Executive Meeting Room. You may ask at the counter on the 5th floor. We also ask students to be no more than half an hour late as you will be asked to come back for the next session if you arrive after 5.30 pm.

Please note that the consultation hours are on a weekly basis for the rest of April and May but will resume to bi-monthly thereafter. The detailed dates and information are listed on the link below.

Waseda Summer Session 2014

Dear Students,

This is a message posted on behalf of Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Please email them directly if you have any query.

Warm greetings from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan!

Starting on June 23 – July 18, 2014, we will offer a 4-week summer session for international and Waseda students at the undergraduate level. Students can take part in 2 courses out of 6 which are wide aspects of business, culture, history and politics in the context of Japan and Asia pacific, offering 4 credits for 2 courses. The classes are taught in English by experienced faculty members from Waseda and visiting professors from other institutions. Japanese classes can be taken as optional courses.

 We will also organize extracurricular activities such as field trips and cultural events to experience Tokyo and Japan.

 Online application is from February 17 to April 17, 2014.

IRO ‘Go Away’ fair

Organised by the NUS International Relations Office (IRO), “Go Away!” is an informative fair allowing NUS students who keen to go on overseas programmes to find out more about available programmes, destinations, and partner-universities.

Head on down with your friends to come view our different ‘country-booths’, listen to student-sharers, and check in with NUS seniors, as well as native students (who are on exchange here in NUS) on what their schools and countries are like, their culture, cost of living, and more!

SEP Drop In Clinics by IRO

As with past semesters, the IRO PALs will be running SEP Drop-In Clinics for students interested in going out on exchange.

IRO SEP Drop-In Clinics:

Days: Mon, Tue, Wed, weeks 5-10 (excluding Recess Week).

Times: 11am-1pm

Venue: International Relations Office, 03-03, Shaw Foundation Alumni House, 11 Kent Ridge Drive

Peer Advising Leaders will be on hand to answer questions to prospective outgoing NUS students about researching SEP, where they can go, and the student perspective on the opportunities.
