What will you find here?

Hello!

Welcome to E-Learning Skills for Tutors , a resource created in collaboration with Teaching Faculty and the Edutech Team in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. If you have been thinking about creating some learning content for your students (undergraduate students or residents), here’s the place to start! The content has been created by faculty, with faculty in mind!

Pick up simple tips and tricks on:

  • Zoom for beginners and adventurers
  • Poll Everywhere
  • Kahoot and Socrative
  • Powerpoint – things you wish you knew
  • Setting up a teaching blogsite!

E-Learning Skills for Tutors is a repository for instruction and information relating to e-learning tools that can be easily accessed and used by all teachers.

Most of the programmes featured here are universally accessible, eg. quizzing software such as Socrative, while others are accessible only to NUH and/or NUS staff (eg. blog.nus).

We are teaching faculties too, and understand that resources are limited, so we have carefully selected the programmes that they are either FREE or available at readily accessible prices. Of course, like with any teaching material, the most important resources required in creating e-learning material are careful planning, lots of thought, time and passion.

We hope that we can help you to equip yourselves with the simple tools that can readily facilitate your e-learning efforts, to make learning more accessible, dynamic and self-directed.

Happy learning!
