Ph.D. candidate Sudharshan Vasudevan presented a poster entitled “PVDF based Polymer Electrolyte and NASICON Electrodes for Symmetric Solid-State Sodium-ion Batteries” at the International Symposium on Polymer Electrolytes (ISPE-18), June 23-28, 2024, Malaysia.
Presenting author Sudharshan Vasudevan also received the Best Poster Award at ISPE-18 for this poster also authored by Sushmita Dwivedi, Karthick Babu Morekonda Ganesh Babu and Palani Balaya.

Prof. Palani Balaya (left) as an “ACerS Global Ambassador ” during MCARE 2016, April 17-21 at Clearwater, Florida for his outstanding efforts in developing Global Collaboration and Outreach for the Society, and for his leadership in the organization of the Asia Pacific Ceramic Cooperation Summit.

The team called Solaire Voyage comprising Louis Lee Wee Boon (team leader), a first year Masters student in Materials Science and Engineering, Muhammad Adil and Vignesh Subramaniam, both second-year Mechanical Engineering students, won the second prize at the finals of an international competition in France (19 June 2009), organised by Airbus called Fly Your Ideas.

Supervised by Prof Joachim Luther, Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) CEO, and SERIS Deputy CEO Prof Armin Aberle, the NUS team presented a challenging idea of generating auxiliary electric power for the aircraft from solar energy with appropriate cost analysis and assessment of environment benefits.
