Rules and Regulations: Short form Creative Video Competition

Eligibility:

1.1 The competition is open to all current students, staff, and faculty members of NUS.

1.2 Participants must be registered students or employed staff/faculty members at the time of submission.

Entry Submission:

2.1 Participants must create an original short-form video (maximum duration: 2 minutes) that raises awareness about slips, trips, and falls prevention.

2.2 Videos can be in any genre, including but not limited to animation, documentary, comedy, drama, or educational.

2.3 Each participant can submit only one video entry.

2.4 The video must be in a digital format compatible with common video players (e.g., MP4, AVI, MOV).

2.5 Submissions must be accompanied by a completed entry form, video title, and a brief description of the video’s message and approach.

2.6 The entry form link will be posted on the campaign microsite on 1 Aug 2023.

Content Guidelines:

3.1 Videos should focus on promoting slips, trips, and falls prevention and addressing behavioral causes.

3.2 The content should be original and not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights of any third party.

3.3 Videos must adhere to ethical guidelines and avoid any content that is discriminatory, offensive, defamatory, or promotes unsafe behavior.

3.4 Participants are encouraged to incorporate creativity, storytelling, and visual appeal to engage the audience effectively.

Submission Deadline:

4.1 The deadline for video submissions will be on 4 Sep 2023, at 6pm.

4.2 Late submissions will not be accepted.

Judging and Evaluation:

5.1 A panel of judges will be appointed by the organizing committee to evaluate the video entries.

5.2 Videos will be assessed based on creativity/originality,relevance to the topic, storytelling, technical quality and popularity.

5.3 The judges’ decision will be final and binding.

Intellectual Property Rights:

6.1 Participants retain ownership of the intellectual property rights of their video entries.

6.2 By entering the competition, participants grant NUS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, and distribute the video entries for promotional and educational purposes related to slips, trips, and falls prevention.

Awards and Recognition:

7.1 Prizes will be awarded to the top video entries, as determined by the judges.

7.2 The details of the prizes and recognition will be announced prior to the competition.

7.3 Winning entries may be featured on NUS’s website, social media platforms, or other promotional materials.

Public Voting:

8.1 Shortlisted videos will be uploaded on ORMC’s YouTube channel for public voting from 6 to 15 Sep 2023.

8.2 Voting is based on the number of likes received for each shortlisted video.

8.3 The public voting will be considered as a factor in the overall judging process.

Disqualification:

9.1 Any violation of the rules and regulations may result in disqualification of the participant or the video entry.

9.2 Disqualified participants will forfeit any prizes or recognition awarded to them.

Liability and Responsibility:

10.1 Participants are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions, releases, and clearances related to the video content, including music, images, trademarks, or other copyrighted materials.

10.2 NUS will not be held liable for any copyright infringement or legal issues arising from the video entries.

10.3 NUS will not be held responsible for any accidents and injuries that are sustained in relation to the course of video production.

Amendments and Termination:

11.1 NUS reserves the right to amend or modify the rules and regulations at any time, if necessary.

11.2 NUS reserves the right to terminate or cancel the competition for any reason, without prior notice.

By participating in the short-form creative video competition, participants acknowledge and agree to abide by these rules and regulations.
