Dr. Shin-Ichiro Noda
Shin=Ichiro Noda is currently the Director, Division of Global Health Programs, Department of Health Planning and Management, Bureau of International Health Cooperation, National Center for Global Health and Medicine, Japan.
His areas of expertise are global health, health systems strengthening, and effective development co-operation. After working as a Paediatrician in Okinawa prefectural hospitals, Japan, Noda studied international health in Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, USA and moved to the Bureau of International Health Cooperation, National Center for Global Health and Medicine, Japan. He worked as a technical adviser in health information systems of JICA technical cooperation project in Honduras. He was seconded to the deputy director of International Cooperation Division, Minister’s Secretariat of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan. He assisted Lao Ministry of Health as a chief adviser of JICA technical cooperation project “Capacity Development for Sector-wide Coordination in Health.” He conducted a research on health and welfare service transformation in ageing societies in Asia comparing Japanese health reform policies and other four Asian countries.
