Dr. Nordin bin Saleh

Dr. Haji Nordin Bin Saleh is a Consultant Public Health Physician and currently works as the Director of Planning Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia since 25 March 2019.

He graduated as a medical doctor from the University Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1987, obtained his Master in Public Health from the University of Philippines in Manila (1992) and Master in Primary Health Care Management from Mahidol University in Bangkok (1994).

Prior to his current position, he spent about 2 and a half years as the Deputy Director for Public Health at Sarawak Health Department. He was responsible to ensure successful implementation of public health policies at local level.

Prior to that, he was the head of Health Policy and Planning Unit, Planning Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia for 5 years.  During his tenure at the Planning Division during that time, he spearheaded the development of the national 5-years health sector plan, namely the 10th and 11th Malaysia Plan. He was also instrumental in developing the Strategic Plan for the Ministry of Health for the period 2011- 2015 and 2016-2020.

For 10 years, from 2001-2011, as a researcher, he headed the Health Policy Studies and Analysis Division at the Institute for Health Systems Research, Kuala Lumpur.

He also had served in various capacity at the Office of Deputy Director- General of Health for Public Health, Family Health Development Division, Johor Bahru District Health Office, Bintangor Health Centre, Mukah Hospital, Lowe King Hau Hospital in Sibu and Malacca General Hospital.
