Diana Beatriz Bayani

Dana Bayani currently works as a Research Fellow at the Health Technology Assessment Unit in the Health Regulation Team of the Philippine Department of Health (DOH). The HTA Unit, which she helped established, produces evidence to inform inclusion of medicines in the national formulary, expansion of health benefit packages of the national health insurance programme, and development of other programmes in the DOH. She received her undergraduate degree in economics from the Ateneo de Manila University and postgraduate degree in health economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She has experience in HTA policy research, economic evaluations, cost-of-illness studies, and health financing policy research. Prior to her assignment in the DOH, Diana served as consultant to the national health insurance agency, PhilHealth’s, Benefits Development and Research Department where she worked on developing primary care and special benefits. She is also a part-time faculty of the Health Sciences Programme of the Loyola Schools in Ateneo de Manila University where she teaches courses on health economics and health policy and systems research.
