MERC Lab: Calling for Volunteer Research Assistants

The Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation and Cognition (MERC) Lab is currently recruiting two volunteer research assistants (RAs) for an online research study examining the effects of mindfulness training on psychological symptoms on health care workers in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

RAs will receive training on administering study protocol, including training research subjects on using a mindfulness or cognitive training mobile app and administering self-report measures and cognitive tasks. There may also be an opportunity to be involved in data management and presentations of the study in local or international conferences.

Duration of Study Involvement: August – December, 2020

Expected Hours of Commitment Per Week: 6-8 hours

This position is suitable for sophomores or juniors majoring or minoring in psychology, and who have a strong interest in acquiring intervention research skills and pursuing clinical/ health psychology-related graduate programs. Preference is given to students who have had experience with sustained mindfulness practice. The applicant should be responsible, motivated, conscientious, detail-oriented, and possess good interpersonal skills.
