Workshop Title Science in the making: Construct. Demonstrate. Inquire. Repeat.
Workshop Write-up You may have seen a science exhibit that sparked your interest or learned more about a scientific topic through observing a science demonstration. How about making a scientific exhibit yourself and demonstrating it to others? We believe that the process of making a science demonstration is even more rewarding than observing one. In this workshop, we will look behind the scenes to understand how a scientific show-and-tell is developed through the cyclic process of constructing, demonstrating, and inquiring.

Workshop Write-up NUS Science Demonstration Lab (SDL) was developed in the spirit of adopting a ‘hands-on, minds-on‘ approach to teaching and learning science.

The laboratory aims to embrace and embody the spirit of allowing students and visitors to discover and re-discover science through hands-on activities and interactive learning; and to build understanding around visually and intellectually impactful science demonstrations. To date, the SDL has received more than 30,000 visitors from more than 250 organisations, tertiary institutions and schools locally and internationally.

The Science Demonstration Laboratory highlights a variety of illuminating science experiments and demonstrations. More importantly, our team of dedicated guides is on hand to communicate the most exciting aspects of scientific concepts to the participants.
