Background and current projects

I graduated from NUS as a Life Sciences major with specialisation in Environmental Biology. While an undergraduate, I was exposed to the ecology of the marine environment such as intertidal seagrass meadows. For my honours project, I examined the initial responses and subsequent recovery of the hard coral Pocillopora acuta to the short-term effects of elevated temperature. During my time as an undergraduate, I also gained a greater appreciation for freshwater biology.

I am a research assistant for a project that aims to investigate the food web and trophic interactions of the aquatic communities of reservoirs in Singapore. I will be studying the plankton assemblages within these freshwater habitats.
