Overview of Division/Department
Our Industry Research Department – Asia Office (IRD) is responsible for providing industry and market research in Southeast Asia, India and Oceania. This research is specifically for the origination and promotion of business strategies (e.g. Business Alliance, Merger & Acquisition) to our customers, who are predominantly Japanese. They works closely with our Tokyo Head Office and the regional Relationship Managers to identify our customers’ needs and issues, conduct research activities and provide advisory services to those customers.

Job Responsibilities
·  Conducting industry and market research in the Southeast Asia, India and Oceania regions
·   Developing and presenting business and market entry strategies
·   Conducting research on areas such as business alliances, Joint Ventures and M&A according to client’s requirements
·   Conducting research on areas which has deep impacts on cross-industries
·   Providing fee-based advisory services for predominantly Japanese customers, including market structure and participant research
·   Providing and sharing industry knowledge internally within the Mizuho group as well as writing and publishing external reports
·   Supporting analysts and RMs by translating Japanese presentation materials into English

What you should have:
·   A Bachelor’s Degree (preferably related to Finance)
·   2 years of finance experience (business banking / accounting / compliance etc)
·  Experience in advisory work with regards to M&A or Joint Venture is advantageous but not a requirement
·   Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
·   Advanced fluency in English and the Japanese language is required as there would be communication with Head Office and customers in Japan. Translation from Japanese to English is also required.
·   Fluency in ASEAN language is a plus

Job: Goldman Sachs Asia Pacific – 2021 Summer Analyst Program – Internal Audit Division

The Internal Audit Division ensures that Goldman Sachs maintains effective controls by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring the firm’s compliance with laws and regulations, and advising management on developing smart control solutions. A major in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, and Engineering is desirable, but essentially they welcome people from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds who are interested in the financial markets. Also, proficiency in Mandarin or Korean language is a plus, while a proficiency in Japanese language is required for those applying for the Tokyo office.

This program is an eight to ten week internship program that will take place in Summer 2021, aiming at students in their penultimate year of study.
