Welcome

The Cooling Energy Science & Technology Laboratory (CoolestLAB) is a research group based in the Energy and Bio Thermal Systems Division in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The CoolestLAB group is led by Prof. Lee Poh Seng and it focuses on the development of various cooling solutions and applications. This includes: development and application of thermal transport enhancement techniques for the effective thermal management of various applications from power electronics to cleantech (e.g. EV/PHEV battery pack and energy efficient heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (ACMV) systems), advanced Hot-spot mitigation techniques in electronic devices, microfluidics and microscale heat transfer of single and two-phase microchannel cooling, Clean/renewable energy in particular hybrid solar energy harvesting systems and Green Data Center cooling solutions for hot and humid tropical climate particularly in liquid cooling and air-flow management applications.

Located in the sunny island state of Singapore, our research group enjoys the diversity of a multicultural group comprising researchers and students which cultivates creativity and drives innovation.
