Knowledge and Truth in Chinese Philosophy

Conference Details:

Introduction

This conference brings together senior and junior scholars working in the field of Chinese Philosophy. Together, we will discuss questions about knowledge and truth in Chinese Philosophy. We’ll focus on questions such as:

  • Did the Chinese Philosophers have a concept of truth?
  • What were the different conceptions of knowledge present in Chinese Philosophy?
  • What was the relationship between self-knowledge and other forms of knowledge?
  • To what extent did the various projects that Chinese Philosophers were engaging in constrain or inform their concern about knowledge and truth?

The second day will end with an open roundtable discussion.
