Postdoctoral fellows
A postdoc opening on modeling of microstructure evolution in additive manufacturing is immediately available in Dr. Wentao Yan’s group at the National University of Singapore. The required expertise is on developing/using the phase field or cellular automaton method to simulate microstructure evolutions during solidification and/or solid-state phase transformations, while knowledge on additive manufacturing is not required but a plus. The initial contract is usually 1-2 years and can be further extended based on mutual agreement.
PhD scholarship
Outstanding students (master or bachelor) with relevant backgrounds on mechanics, manufacturing and metal materials are encouraged to apply. NUS requires all applicants for Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Engineering to submit their Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test scores, as part of the application. Candidates are to obtain the following minimum scores for GRE: GRE score of 320 (Verbal & Quantitative Total) and 3.5 (Analytical). TOEFL or IELTS score is also required (either is ok).
Visiting scholars
There are also a couple of openings for visiting PhD students funded by CSC or other fundings. The duration should be one year or more.
