Lab director: Kate Sangwon Lee
Dr. Kate Sangwon Lee is a lecturer at the Engineering Design and Innovation Centre (EDIC) within the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) at the National University of Singapore. Dr. Lee is a researcher and educator specializing in human-computer interaction (HCI) and creating sustainable and valuable products through human-centered design. With a career that spans academia and industry, she brings her practical expertise as a User Experience (UX) designer and Product Manager at Naver and SK Telecom, two top tech companies in South Korea. Her research focuses on the ethics and responsibility of social platforms, proposing inclusive products. One of them is her current project, the Digital Twin system, which aims to propose an occupant-centric and transparent AI-powered system by adopting the notion of “Human-In-The-Loop.” Dr. Lee teaches UX and UI design courses at EDIC and supervises students’ industry collaboration projects with NUH, P&G, and MOHT.
