Exporting and Importing Backups

Backups for full websites are stored in the XML format and are imported using the wordpress importer. Backups for specific pages are stored in the JSON format and can be imported using DIVI. A list of website backups for the USR4002a and ePortfolio sites can be found here (private access).

Exporting/Importing a full wordpress website

WordPress has their own import/export function which you can use to save all the content in your blog NUS web page.

To export a website, select the export tab under tools, choose all content and then export your website as an XML file.

To import a website, select the import tab.

Next, select the WordPress importer, and choose the XML file you wish to import.

You can now import your WordPress website (which should be an XML file).

Export and Import specific pages using DIVI

Pages have to be manually exported beforehand to use as backups. Exporting a page allows you to save a json copy of it, and is as simple as importing.

To export a page, first load the DIVI builder of the page. Then, you have to select the export button.

At the import/export page, simply click on the export tab and name your page JSON file. You can now download and save a backup copy of your page.

To import a page, first load the DIVI builder of the page. Then, you have to select the import button and then choose the json file that contains the backup.
