I am a Senior Lecturer with the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
During the course of my graduate studies, I discovered my passion for teaching as a TA for multitude of modules and I decided to pursue it full-time. I teach courses on introduction to computer engineering, signals and systems, embedded systems, programming and power systems.
I have diverged from traditional research to pedagogical research over the last few years. I like to explore the use of technology for teaching and on bringing authentic learning to the classrooms using experiential and project-based learning pedagogies. I have used the power systems module as a test-bed for implementing a blended mode of instruction with funds from the Provost’s office. I am also interested in effective feedback to the learners in traditional as well as blended modes of learning.
I was awarded the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award in 2018 and 2019, Engineering Educator Award for 2019, the Faculty Commendation List for teaching in 2016 and 2017 and the Faculty Honour’s List for teaching in 2018. I was also awarded the Innovative Teaching Award (Gold) by the Faculty in 2018.
I received my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2013 and my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Sardar Vallabhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat, India in 2007. My doctoral thesis is on “Elderly Rehabilitation: Signal Processing Techniques” under the advice of “Assoc Prof Sanjib Kumar Panda”. My research interests are in biomedical embedded systems , Signal processing and Pattern Recognition.
