Li Jin’s RVRC Story

As RVRC e-Open Day is coming up, the student blog team will do a series of #myRVstory where residents share their #whyRV and their favorite parts about RVRC! Here’s Li Jin’s story!

I think one thing about RV is that you really don’t know how RV is like until you truly experience it. RV is relatively new and unknown compared to UTown RCs, and when I was applying for RCs, I didn’t have seniors who could share their personal stories about RV. I came in by chance, but I don’t regret one bit staying here. It’s chill here and I really enjoy my day-to-day life here.

It’s my first year in RV but I’m trying out new things that I haven’t done previously. I had the chance to lead the floorball team for Inter-House Games and even try out a whole new sport, Tchoukball, that I also got involved by chance. I even had the chance to represent RV for Tchoukball in TchoukCup, which the previous Master, Master Kunle, had come down to support and Inter-College Games. There are also upcoming opportunities that I will be taking up such as the Freshman Orientation.

The biggest takeaway from here is the people that I have met. From seniors who helped me endlessly since day 1 with academics and coping with life away from home to orientation group mates who I hang out with the most in RV, RV is a part of me that I wouldn’t change.

There’ll be more #myRVstory coming up these few weeks and if you want to be featured, just leave a comment, or contact lishuen at wee.lishuen@u.nus.edu!
