Support InteractionCollaborate and ReflectSupport online group projects

Group projects enable collaborative learning and peer-to-peer instruction where students working together in groups to enhance their own and their peer’s learning.

Making small groups work

  • Design: Carefully consider the desired learning outcomes, the benefits, and drawbacks of using collaborative group work, and then choose the most suitable type.
  • The design of online group projects should be goal-oriented.
  • Group size: Groups of five to six students work well. Groups larger than six can get unwieldy and dilute students’ experience, while groups of four generally tends to divide into pairs.
