Hello! I am Jo Ee, the creator of ‘Quit Playing Games (With Our Earth)’, an environmental blog that explores the often-overlooked but pressing issue of Olympic pollution.
As per the blog title, it is my hope that we humans — from spectators to Olympic Committee members — will do away with the environmentally-pollutive activities that we engage in during the Olympic Games. In recent years, it has become increasingly apparent that such anthropogenic pollution is taking its toll on the Earth, and hence we need to act quickly if we want to reverse this trend.
While some might believe that there is little use in mitigating pollution at such a large-scale event where adverse environmental impacts are inevitable, I would argue that the opposite also holds true. Environmentally-friendly practices, no matter how small, can have a big impact in reducing pollution levels (and their effects) when adopted by the hundreds and thousands of people involved in the Olympic Games.
With that, I hope that you will enjoy reading this blog, and feel free to comment on anything that interests you!
