Choub Sok Chamreun

Choub Sok Chamreun holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economy and rural development and a master’s degree in political science and international relations. With over twenty years of experience in primary health care programs and public health system strengthening, he is currently the Executive Director of KHANA, a strong Cambodian umbrella NGO. Since 1993, he has worked in health systems strengthening, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), STI and HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support, family planning, maternal child health, TB, and livelihoods programs within government health systems and non-governmental organizations. He is a former Chief of Party of the 30 million dollar HIV/AIDS Flagship funded by USAID, which began in November 2012 through a consortium with FHI360 and PSI in Cambodia. He is a seasoned advocate of the rights of marginalized and stigmatized populations, bringing their voices to government agencies and international fora. His policy and advocacy skills have been applied to sensitive issues such as sex workers’ rights and creating an enabling environment for harm reduction services for drug users.

He serves the Health Actions Coordination Committee (HACC) as the Chair of Board of Directors and the Social Health Protection Association (SPHA) as a member of Board of Directors.

Choub has co-authored Gender Assessment in the National Tuberculosis Response in Cambodia; Key Population Assessment in the National Tuberculosis Response in Cambodia; and How active case finding with seed and recruit model works to improve tuberculosis case detection and linkage to treatment in Cambodia.
