Dr. Wang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in National University of Singapore. Prior to this, he was an Alexander von Humboldt fellow at the Laboratory for Precision Machining, Germany, in 2016 and was awarded the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) fellowship in 2020. He has a persistent dedication to the research in micro-cutting theory and the physics of machining processes. He is experienced with the system and process development, the design and implementation of machining and polishing systems, and metallurgy. His research themes are centralized at bridging the gap between additive manufacturing and ultra-precision machining technology. Over the years, Dr. Wang has published over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles with a majority of publications in top 10% JCR ranked journals. He was an invited Youth Editor for International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing and is currently serving as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing as a testament to the impact of his research works in the field of advanced manufacturing.
