Biomedical Materials Application and Technology (BIOMAT) Laboratory is part of Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore. Established in 1999, the group is currently led by A/P Thian Eng San. BIOMAT has many national and international collaborations with both academic and research institutions. With the aim of overcoming current biomedical and food engineering challenges, as well as reducing extravagant health care and food waste costs, the group works within the fields of nanobiomedical materials, tissue engineering, surface engineering and food packaging.
