About me

Weiqing Ren (任维清)is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at National University of Singapore (NUS). He obtained his PhD from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University in 2002. Before joining NUS, he was member of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton (2002-2003), an instructor in the Department of Mathematics at Princeton University (2003-2005), and an assistant professor at Courant Institute, New York University (2005-2011).

Professor Ren’s research interests are in applied mathematics and computational sciences, with focuses on rare events, multi-phase flows and multiscale numerical methods.

Professor Ren is a recipient of the Sloan Research Fellowship (2005) and the Feng Kang Prize of Scientific Computing (2015).
