What can you do with a degree from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy?
The LKY School’s Master in Public Policy (MPP) Programme provides rigorous training for a strong foundation in policy analysis, programme evaluation and management.
The LKY School’s Master in International Affairs (MIA) programme prepares students for a wide variety of career options by equipping them with both theoretical and practical knowledge of multidisciplinary subfields of international relationships, together with an immersive experience in Asia.

The LKY School’s Master in Public Administration (MPA) programmes prepares students for senior management roles in the public sector. It provides an intensive, interdisciplinary course of study for professionals who wish to work on increasingly complex issues shaping national, regional and global policies and projects.

Employer organizations
Upon graduation, many of our students returned to work for their previous employers and continue to advance their careers in public policy, government and multilateral institutions. Others pursued careers in the private and non-profit sectors, taking on roles in government relations, public affairs consulting, management, policy management and research, just to name a few. - Essential Skills Workshops
Essential Skills is a para-academic programme that aims to equip students with writing, communication, and career skills that are useful for their academic and professional success. The Essential Skills programme consists of a series of two-hour long, standalone workshops that students may attend throughout Semesters 1 and 2 of your academic year. These are hands-on workshops that aim to develop practical skills for personal and professional development. These workshops are grouped under the following two tracks:
- Communications, including workshops spanning across a broad range of skills, such as writing, reading, visual, verbal and nonverbal communication.
- Professional and Career Development, including workshops aiming to strengthen students’ career development skills, such as cover letter and resume writing, presentation skills, career planning, and networking.
Internship Opportunities
We encourage all our students to explore their career options by taking on an internship during their course of study.
The school provides some funding supporting to students who take on unpaid internship through the LKY School Internship Programme (LIP). The funding is not guaranteed and is available on a competitive basis. Click here to find out more about the LIP.
For the MPP and MPA programmes, internship is not a compulsory part of the course requirement.
For the MIA programme, students who chooses to do internship for their MIA Capstone Project or do a Master Thesis. A briefing on this will be conducted for MIA students.
