The Mysterious Man & Library Etiquette Month

For the months of October and November, library users are likely to notice a mysterious man in black at various spots in the library. Don’t worry, there’s nothing to fear –he is simply the mascot for our Library Etiquette campaign this year.

In addition to posters (and a life-size standee at Central Library), the Library Etiquette team has created a series of five videos which will be released one by one every Wednesday (2 videos will be released in the last week).

Each light-hearted video focuses on an etiquette issue we hope to address and through these, we hope to garner library users’ understanding and cooperation. The objective of this campaign is twofold: one, to ensure a conducive and pleasant study environment for all library users and two, to highlight some ways which users like yourself can help create this environment.

The issues highlighted in this campaign are:

  • Food in the library
  • Taking calls in the appropriate areas
  • Speaking softly in the library
  • Taking turns at using power points available in the library
  • Some strange but real behavior that affect other library users

The first video has been released here and more videos will be uploaded to this playlist weekly so do bookmark this link!

We love our users and want all of you to keep coming back! So let’s work together to make the library a great place for NUS students!
