Dr Tee Jong Huat

Research Fellow

Jong Huat has obtained his BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia. In the year 2013, he was awarded a doctoral research fellowship from University Sains Malaysia to pursue his PhD degree under the mentorship of Prof. Dr Hasnan Jaafar and Prof. Dr Jafri Malin Abdullah. Jong Huat’s PhD research focused on the role of essential microRNA in growth factor-mediated neural differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells and was successfully completed in the year 2017. Soon after his graduation, he joined Medeiros’s Lab in Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) for his first postdoctoral training. Jong Huat research interest is focus on immunology and inflammation-related disease in general.Β  In January 2019, Jong Huat joined the Ge Lab as research fellow and applied his skills to investigate the role of Isthmin-1 as an immune regulator in allergic asthma. When not in lab, Jong Huat enjoys travelling, reading, and training karate.
