Hello everyone 🙂 I am Jade, a co-writer of this blog together with Ridzuan! I would like to introduce some of my eating habits as well as my favourite foods. Through this blogging process, I hope to find out more about what goes on behind the scenes of the production of my favourite meals, as well as its environmental impacts.
Diet
I do not have any dietary restrictions, and my weekly consumption usually contains rice, vegetables, animal meat such as poultry, pork and seafood, and dairy products such as milk, cheese and egg.
Eating Habits
As a university student, most of my social gatherings involve food and I often eat out with my friends at the school canteen or at cafes on weekdays. For weekends, I would usually consume home-cooked meals, usually consisting of 2 meat dishes and 2 vegetable dishes for my family of 5. Whenever there are leftovers, we would reheat them for the next meal in order to prevent food wastage. My mother would go grocery shopping once a week and prepare our meals daily. Eating out and fast food are not a norm in my household, except during birthday celebrations or special occasions.
After the circuit breaker began and safe distancing restrictions were in place, I had more home-cooked meals. But my diet remained largely unchanged. I also began to order more meals on food delivery apps as the restaurants and shops did not allow for dining in.
Favourite meals
What are some of your favourite meals? My favourite food is sushi, in particular, sashimi and maki sushi. Also, I have to add that I am a huge fan of ice cream. Some may say that ice cream is a dessert and not a proper meal, however, I could eat ice cream for the rest of my life!
In our next post, Ridzuan will be sharing about his food choices and eating habits, Stay tuned!
