In an article contribution by Associate Professor Syed Farid Alatas, Department of Sociology, he discussed the simplistic views about the relationship between a woman’s attire and sexual crimes. He opined that religious leaders ought to be learned in fields like sociology and psychology before daring to comment on vice and sexual crimes against women. He added that these leaders are in positions of responsibility and must be mindful of that responsibility and avoid misleading people with distortions.
