Dear students

This is an announcement on behalf of Western University through our International Relations Office.

Western University is inviting some of the world’s best universities tocompete in the first international World’s Challenge Challenge in 2016-2017. Interested NUS students can form diverse teams of three to choose a global issue and design a unique solution. The teams will then present their unique solutions to panel of academic and community leaders at NUS that will judge the presentations and ideas based on an established scoring rubric. The top team from each World’s Challenge Challenge partner will win a trip to London, Canada, in May 2017, to compete in the international finals. The tentative period of the competition at NUS (onsite) is projected from early October to mid-December; after which a panel of judges appointed by NUS will choose the winning team to head to Canada in May next year.

Invitation: Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) 2016 Asia Conference

Please note that this is an announcement on behalf of the organiser of this conference: The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Please refer to them directly if you have any query on this.

HPAIR2016

It is with pleasure I extend the below invitation to NUS students to participate in the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations 2016 Asia Conference which will take place between 19 and 23 August 2016.  The Conference is Harvard University’s largest annual student conference in the Asia-Pacific region.  This year it will be  hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and will focus on 5 tracks, namely, Environment and Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Technology, Humanitarian Affairs, Business and the World Economy, and Governance and Diplomacy.

The Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) is a student-run organization of the Harvard University Faculty of Arts and Sciences.  Since 1991, they have continuously gathered a growing pool of international students from top universities, renowned academics, business professionals, and political leaders to engage in their rigorous educational events.  The HPAIR Asia Conference is a 5-day academic program aiming to enrich delegates with a broader exposure to issues spanning multiple arenas, including political, social, economic, cultural, and business.  As the world becomes more globalized as well as commercialized, the boundary between business and other aspects of society is increasingly less rigid. The HPAIR Asia Conference seeks to capture this phenomenon and help delegates understand its impacts on the future of international relations.

Application for delegates has now started and you are invited to join this wonderful event! The regular deadline for application is 15 May, 2016. For more information, please visit www.hpair.org
