First publication of 2019

Congratulations to Dr. Hugo Olvera Vargas and co-autors for the first EWAT group publication of 2019.

One of the limitations of electro-Fenton process is the need of an acid pH. In this work, the electrochemical treatment of pharmaceutical compounds was assessed at near-neutral pH  using the inorganic ligand triphosphate (TPP). If you want to know more about it download the paper at: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/celc.201801732

May this be first paper of many through the year, amen!

From pollution to purification

The EWAT group participated in the International Conference on Wastewater 2018, held in Kottayam, India. Assist. Prof. Olivier Lefebvre, showed the research that is currently taking place in our laboratory, where electrochemical technologies are the main topic.

Congratulations Dr. Wang!

The EWAT group is proud of our member Zuxin Wang, who had her thesis defense this morning and obtained her doctorate degree. One of the greatest things about education is that no one can take it away from you, we wish you all the best in this science race, where the starter pistol just got fired, jiayou!

Regional IWA Reuse International Conference 2018

“Southeast Asia is experiencing unprecedented growth and economic development; however, many sustainability challenges remain.”  This conference showcased the advances of Southeast Asia  scientific community, addressing many water challenges associated with rapid development.  During this conference the EWAT group organized a workshop, where participants tried to give solutions in order to improve the water management of the hotel which served as conference venue. Also, participated with 3 oral presentations, below Dr. Hugo Olvera as chair in the session of Advanced Treatment Technologies.

Le hasard ne favorise que les esprits préparés.

One of the research interests of the EWAT group is the development of new electrode materials. In order to learn new material’s synthesis methods, our PhD student Xu Jiangxiong is doing an academic stay at the Sobornne university Paris Diderot. She  hopes that the combination between the new material and the electrodes she has been developing during her PhD research, will improve the degradation efficiency of pollutants.

IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition 2018

The IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition is one of the most important events covering the full water cycle, this event held every 2 years was based in Tokyo this year, gathering specialists from more than 100 countries. The EWAT group members participated with oral presentations, posters and chairing sessions. Singapore International Water Week 2018

The EWAT team showcased their  reactor prototypes during the Singapore International Water Week 2018. This is one of the most important exhibitions in Asia with a strong commercial focus, where the latest water treatment solutions and technologies are exhibited. In the image, Asst. Professor Olivier Lefebvre, explaining the electro-coagulation process to stand visitors.
