Hello!
Welcome to my blog – A Latte to Learn, A Latte to Share 🙂
I’m Jo, a Year 1 student majoring in the Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) in National University of Singapore.
Why BES you may ask? That’s because I’ve always believed in doing things I enjoy. When I had to make a decision for my course of study, I didn’t know what degree I wanted to pursue. After reflecting and looking at the activities I enjoy doing …
I came to a decision.
Since visiting parks and natural spaces are activities I love, I thought ‘Why not take up the Environmental Studies?’ And here I am, being a Year 1 BES student, who hopes to play a part in protecting the beauty of nature.
Besides my interests in the environment, I am also a foodie who loves baking, cooking, eating and everything food related!
That is probably why I am working part-time at a café, where I can eat and earn money at the same time >< Having worked at the café for three years, I’ve gained many experiences, seen the pretty and ugly sides of the café’s operations and met customers from all walks of life.
Hence, given the opportunity to start a blog in my ENV1101 module in University, I thought it would be interesting to share my questions and thoughts about the Food and Beverage (F&B) sector. It also made me reflect on my café job experience and actions at work that could have possibly harmed the environment. As such, I was inspired to share my thoughts about the issues between food businesses and sustainability, as well as evaluate their efforts in balancing these two aspects.
So stay tuned to my blog posts where I share my views on certain observations and issues I face at the café!
