Education Grant Writing Course
CDTL has collaborated with the Institute for Applied Learning Sciences and Educational Technology (ALSET) to conduct an Education Grant Writing Course. The course is designed to prepare faculty members to write and submit applications for teaching and learning research grants. The key purpose of this course is to help colleagues plan and write a grant proposal to apply for the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education Research Fund (MOE TRF). The course is divided into three sessions which can be taken either face-to-face or online (synchronously using Zoom). The three sessions are:
- Overview of educational grant proposal writing
- Developing and transforming research ideas into a grant proposal
- Bring Your Own Proposal: Writing seminar for grant proposal
Teaching Portfolio
The CDTL series “Developing a Teaching Portfolio” has been taught face-to-face for almost 4 years. In 2022, we decided to launch a self-paced version in EdX (only accessible for NUS staff).
More than 150 participants have completed this online course at their own time and pace.

CDTL Lunchtime Sharing Series
The CDTL Lunchtime Sharing Series was launched in August 2022, and aims to share insights from academic teachers’ experiences, challenges, and good practices. In this series of talks, participants get to ask questions and chat with colleagues and CDTL’s Academic Developers on how technology-enhanced learning (TEL) strategies can be effective in improving student engagement, and enhancing teaching and learning outcomes. Each workshop in the series will focus on one TEL tool and strategies on how to use the tool for teaching.
