My Brief

Akshay Rathore has established himself as a thought leader in the research domain of power electronics and drives. He has proven track record in teaching, research, and services. He received global attention, wider visibility, and recognition for his innovations in current-fed converters and multilevel inverters. His proposed topologies, modulation techniques, and research outcomes of these topics are widely accepted and referred. He has demonstrated  global leadership in designing high efficiency high-density power electronics for transportation electrification (land, air, and sea), renewable energy systems, fuel cells, battery storage/UPS, and electrical motor drives applications.

Prof. Rathore has served in various administration roles such as Department Management Committee Secretary (NUS), Research Publicity Committee (NUS), Outreach Committee (NUS), NUS-IITB Joint PhD degree Programme Coordinator (NUS), Graduate Programme Director (Concordia), Chair of Graduate Awards (Concordia), Faculty Council Member (Concordia), Member PhD & MASc Defense Committee (Concordia), MEngg  Seminar Committee Chair (Concordia), ECE Graduate Studies Committee Member (Concordia), and Programme Leader of Electrical Power Engineering (SIT). Presently, he is serving as the area director of the Power and Energy Systems Research Group at the ECE, NUS Singapore.

Prof. Rathore’s visibility and capability cross the boundaries. He was invited by the National Science Foundation (NSF), USA to Arlington, VA office to evaluate and select the final recipients for NSF Early Career Awards in 2016. He was invited by many Government funding agencies NSC (Poland), NRF (Singapore), NSERC (Canada), CCST (Chile), SFRS (Serbia), RDIA (Saudi Arabia), and QNRF (Qatar) to serve as the reviewer to evaluate the research proposals.

Prof. Rathore is a renowned speaker and has delivered 20 keynotes, and 5 tutorials at IEEE conferences in various countries. He has delivered over 300 talks, including IEEE seminars, IEEE webinars, faculty development workshops, joint university symposiums, industry summits, Governmental workshops, summer schools, distinguished lectures, industry lectures, student and young professional events, invited institutional expert lectures in many countries.
