Our collaborative paper won the Materials Research Letters (MRL) 2022 Impact Award!

Our collaborative paper with Dr. Zan Li’s group just won the Materials Research Letters (MRL) 2022 Impact Award! The major contribution of the work is for the first time revealing the compression-tension thermal stress cycles during the additive manufacturing processes being the origin of the high-density dislocations in AMed metals, by leveraging Dr. Li’s well-designed experiments and our high-fidelity multi-physics simulations. Since being published in April 2020, this paper has been cited for ~100 times, becoming the most cited research paper on MRL in the past three years.
