Research Fellow

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work with on Protein-based vaccine development under a project on Oral and Immersion Vaccines against Viruses in Asian Seabass.

The main responsibilities of the position include

1.     Selection of suitable antigens (virus and other pathogen proteins) as potential vaccine candidates,

2.     Production of the selected antigens using recombinant DNA technology,

3.     Development of methods for assembling the antigens as virus-like particles,

4.     Development of peptide-based adjuvants for enhancing immune response of vaccines delivered in oral and immersion routes.

 

Qualifications / Discipline:

PhD in immunology, structure biology, molecular biology, or biochemistry

Skills:

1.     Molecular biology techniques, or/and immunological techniques,

2.     Problem solving and independent research,

3.     Oral and written communications.

Experience: 

Experience in gene cloning, protein expression and purification, basic understanding of protein structure-function relationship.

Research Assistant

 Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Biology are encouraged to apply.

The position focuses on protein expression in E. Coli, purification, and mutagenesis as well as purchase of consumables. The successful applicant should have experience in gene cloning, protein expression and purification. Good communication skill in English is necessary.
