Associate Professor Anoma Pieris of University of Melbourne will be giving a seminar on identity politics — specifically the entangled colonial, vernacular and regionalist identities — in the making of Sri Lankan architecture at NUS Department of Architecture, this coming Friday, 21 March 2014. This seminar is based on her book Architecture and Nationalism in Sri Lanka. I think Prof. Pieris would be discussing the works of Geoffrey Bawa and Valentine Gunasekara.
